Bottle Service: The Celebrity Booze Ranked From Bargain Buy to Skip It

The celebrity liquor boom shows no signs of slowing down. Walk into any Total Wine or Costco in America and you'll bump into a famous face on a bottle before you reach the register. Some of these bottles are genuinely excellent. Others are mid-shelf juice wearing a tuxedo and charging you for the fit.
So we did what any self-respecting editorial team would do: cleared a Friday afternoon, bought the bottles ourselves, and tasted them blind. Here's the damage.
How We Judged
Each bottle got scored on three axes: actual liquid quality, price fairness, and whether the celebrity connection adds anything or just adds cost. Blind pours, no labels, no mercy. Scores out of 10.
The Tequilas: The Crowded Corner of the Market
Casamigos (George Clooney). The one that started the modern gold rush. It's smooth, easy, and clearly built for mixing rather than sipping. 7/10. You're paying a few dollars for the name, but not an offensive amount.
818 (Kendall Jenner). Better than the internet's initial pile-on suggested. The blanco is clean and citrusy, though the añejo leans sweet in a way that feels engineered for people who don't really drink tequila. 6.5/10.
Teremana (Dwayne Johnson). Genuinely solid for the price. Small-batch branding aside, it's a dependable, pleasant blanco that won't embarrass your margarita. 7.5/10 and the best value of the tequila bunch.
DeLeón (Diddy-associated). Sleek bottle, premium pricing, and a liquid that doesn't quite justify either. 5/10. You're buying the aesthetic.
The Whiskies: Where the Money Gets Serious
Wilderness/WhistlePig-adjacent and Ryan Reynolds' Aviation-adjacent entries prove that a charming celebrity spokesperson can carry a brand a long way — sometimes further than the juice deserves.
Uncle Nearest (not celebrity-owned, but celebrity-endorsed by half of Nashville). Technically outside our lane, but it earns its place: exceptional, fairly priced, and the best story in American whiskey. 9/10.
Heaven's Door (Bob Dylan). A genuine surprise. The straight bourbon has real character — baking spice, oak, a proper finish. Dylan's team clearly found serious distilling partners. 8/10.
Various rapper-backed straight bourbons that shall remain nameless: sourced juice, marked-up prices, gorgeous bottles. 4.5/10. Decant it into a mason jar and nobody would blink.
The Wines and Everything Else
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's former Provence rosé (Miraval) remains the benchmark for celebrity wine — crisp, dry, and legitimately good even without the tabloid backstory. 8.5/10.
Graham Norton's wine line is the sleeper hit of the whole exercise. Cheap, cheerful, and shockingly drinkable. 7.5/10 at a price that won't hurt.
The Verdict: What Deserves Bar Cart Real Estate
If you want the best actual liquid per dollar, grab Uncle Nearest and Teremana. If you want the story, Heaven's Door delivers both quality and conversation. If you want the vibe — the sleek bottle, the famous face, the whole fantasy — that's fine too. Just know what you're buying: sometimes the celebrity is the product, and the liquor is the merch.
Our advice? Buy one bottle for the taste and one for the flex. Never confuse the two.
