Up until now, Charlize Theron admits to being a “relationship girl”. But now that the 36 year-old South African beauty is single, she says it’s actually a “nice experience.”
The actress and model spent her 20s and early 30s in serious relationships. First there was a three year stint with Third Eye Blind front man Stephan Jenkins followed by a 10 year relationship with Irish actor, Stewart Townsend that fizzled in 2010.
On Wednesday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres show, Charlize opened up about singledom saying “[I’m] a bit of a creature that is very comfortable in a relationship… and like kind of like that was my 20s and early 30s, I was never single. Not that I’m painting the town read and dancing and clubbing but I’m really enjoying being on my own.”
She also talked about the pitfalls of dating in Hollywood “[You] can’t date like normal people. As soon as you’re seen with someone it’s like do you really want to deal with that? Then it’s not casual dating anymore. Then you can’t really suss the guy out if you want. It’s like you’re married and having a child. It’s like it’s done.
Well, the Young Adult star may not have a man in her life but she’s recently filled the void by adopting two adorable rescue dogs.
Ms. Theron’s latest flick, Young Adult hit theatres Friday, December 9. Charlize is also set to star in the upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman opposite Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth (due out in 2012).
